The goal of this season is to explore these filmmakers through the lens of the "auteur theory", which presupposes that some directors exhibit a distinct personal style and vision that impacts each and every one of their works. This is why two films will be screened in advance of each meeting in order to better "connect the dots" between a filmmaker's stylistic consistencies and preoccupations.
