During  Kadimah Winter JCamp,  the theme will be about game making.  Each group will create their own handbook and each child will take theirs as a souvenir at the end.

To achieve this, all our activities will be focused on developing children's creativity, whether playing old games, games from other countries or blending existing games.

Our specialists will show the kids games or activities related to their specialty and with the help of the campers they will   modify them, they will also take on the challenge of helping the campers to assemble the invented games.

Along with onsite programming campers will be going on field trips. If weather permits, we will also be visiting the Chedoke Trails for a winter hike and tobogganing!

Activities include:

Onsite programming

Swimming and sport

Tobogganing and outdoor activities

Shabbat activities

*Minimum  registration required of 5 per group and maximum registration required of 12 per group*

Safe Camp Policy

As always, Kadimah JCamp will have zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour of any kind whether that be engaging in any physical and/or verbal action that has intent to harm or has caused harm to another individual. In the event of not complying with any of the above: The family will be contacted to discuss the incident and the expected change in behaviour that needs to be taken immediately. That being said, if the Director Team feels that either the parent/guardian(s) or camper’s behaviour compromise the health and/or safety of campers and staff, given the potential very sensitive nature of this upcoming particular season and the essential need for compliance and social distancing, the consequences could range from the immediate pick up of your child from camp up to and including full and immediate dismissal from Camp, at the sole discretion of the Directors. The goal is to ensure that every camper feels safe and secure  and that every effort is made to comply with the Government’s strict Covid-19 guidelines. Our combined health and safety, as well as the Camp’s ability to stay open depends on it! While we indeavour to provide everyone with a fun and positive camp experience this winter, we must keep the safety of all our campers and staff first and for most.

If you, your child(ren), or another family member becomes ill or suffers some other loss due to infection of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) that may have been caused from being at Camp or from being exposed by someone else who was at Kadimah JCamp. In consideration of the services of Kadimah JCamp, I, the parent/guardian listed in this application for enrollment, acknowledge and agree as follows:

Activities: The activities of Kadimah JCamp include, but are not limited to, a variety of traditional sports, games, activities, crafts and events that may make it impossible to consistently implement social distancing of at least 2 metres (6 feet) that may be recommended by any known government authorities. Although Kadimah JCamp will make every effort to implement the guidelines in place by local government authorities and public health, Camp is a place where campers, counsellors, and staff are often in contact and near each other every day.  This includes, but is not limited to eating at the table together at lunch and snacks, fine arts, visual arts, arts & crafts, playing sports,  some examples include but are not limited to baseball, and soccer.

Risks

Kadimah JCamp will be taking more health and safety precautions this winter. Prior to the start of camp, the parent/guardian will have to attest to their child(ren)’s good health and that neither the child(ren) nor any member of their immediate household has traveled outside of Ontario within 14 days of the start of the child(ren)’s camp session, that they are not exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 and that they have not been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19.  Other precautions during camp include: encouraging and enforcing more hand washing, more use of hand sanitizers, regular sanitizing of equipment, reduced sharing of arts supplies and toys, more wiping down and disinfecting of doorknobs, washrooms, tables and high use areas with antibacterial wipes and/ or spray, etc.  Any child or staff that does not feel well for any reason should not attend camp and remain at home and the camp should be notified. Kadimah JCamp should be notified if any camper or staff is exhibiting symptoms of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and/or tests positive for same. In such a circumstance, Kadimah JCamp will notify local public health authorities for further guidance and instructions. Even taking these and other extra precautions, campers and staff will still be exposed to the risk of contracting the Coronavirus (Covid-19) or possibly some other illness. Kadimah  JCamp will remove activities that are not permitted under the public health guidelines (To Be Determined). The remaining activities though (sports, crafts and other arts, science, outdoor activities) which are an integral part of the Kadimah JCamp experience still carry risks and/or the potential for spreading of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). If eliminated, campers would be deprived of the opportunity for the growth and development which Kadimah JCamp and its campers and families expect.

Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risks: I, the Parent/Guardian listed in this application for enrolment, have read and understand the Kadimah JCamp activities and risk of exposure to the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Although we are taking the necessary precautions at Kadimah JCamp, the risk of spreading Covid-19 still exists given that both campers and staff are in contact with other people outside of camp. I acknowledge and accept the risks that my child and/or members of my family in close contact (within 2 meters for more than 15 minutes) may be at risk of getting Coronavirus (Covid-19) with my child being enrolled at Kadimah JCamp.
